Strut first launched in 1999 with Quinton Scott, the former Harmless compiler, at the helm. The intention was to produce high quality compilations aimed at the dance music market. They were responsible for covering a wide variety of music from the Larry Levan Live At The Paradise Garage double CD set, to excellent African compilations such as Nigeria 70. Although it ceased trading in 2003, it was revived by Quinton and became part of the K7 group. They continue to release innovative compilations, as well as more original artist-driven albums.
