From the opening track 'Descent' we are drawn into the underground lair of Scuba. Maybe the subway tunnel on the album cover is the entrance? But it's not necessarily gloomy down there. On some tracks things get decidedly funky, as with 'On Deck' which lurches on distorted bowed cello and 'Tracers' with its busy rimshot and injection of Detroit techno. The essence of the album may be found in Lights Out' as it emerges from the deep to fire up the dancefloor with solid kick, lively bongos and the omnipresent low
