“The atmosphere at the Faust studio was really special,” explained Stefan Schneider on release of this typically brilliant outing from the German band. “The technical set up at the studio is very basic and regular in a good way. So we could record our music almost like a band playing a live show in order to achieve maximum brilliance and plasticity.” And from the first bass lick of ‘Away’ it’s clear that this is the band’s most organic LP, with the locked grooves of seventies Germany certainly colouring tracks like ‘Seele’ and ‘Bells’. At the same time, the acidic abstractions of ‘No Way to Prepare’ and the peak hour bomb ‘Working Against Time’ makes this another essential outing from the Berlin trio.
