When electroclash threatened to put a big bad smear of mascara across dance music and when fashion and pop fused into a muddled yet snarling beast, Princess Superstar was riding that byatch side-saddle. Princess Superstar Is is an album of hip pop fused with a punk attitude, like the Beastie Boys or Kurtis Blow in bra and knickers and not much else. Funny yet never succumbing to pastiche this album has enough hooks in it to scare the shit out of Moby Dick.
