Old-school hip-hop at its finest. KRS One rapping over basic, raw funky beats, with some excellent use of samples and no political undertones. This was made when rap was a pure street skill, as it was emerging, fighting, out of the 'South Bronx', when it hadn't yet achieved its saturating reach over black America. Title track 'Criminal Minded' sets the tone for this influential and essential hip-hop album. Head for 'South Bronx' for some catchy hip-hop chants.
