Yoshitoshi US

Set up in 1994 by Sharam and Dubfire (Deep Dish) as the successor to their first label Deep Dish Recordings, which was little more than a conduit for their own early recordings. Yoshitoshi was a more grown-up label and, in its first five or six years, released a string of brilliant house records: Satori’s ‘Satori’, ‘House Music’ by Eddie Amador and ‘Give Me Luv’ by Alcatraz, produced by Deep Dish’s then engineer Victor Imbres. Although the label did go off the boil later on (with occasional sparkling moments), the catalogue stands up as one of the strongest American labels of the 1990s.
