West End US

One of the holy trinity of New York disco labels, West End was set up by Mel Cheren and Ed Kushins to capitalise on the then emerging disco boom. West End was instrumental in creating the disco bandwagon, releasing hits like Taana Gardner's ‘Heartbeat’, Loose Joints’ ‘Is It All Over My Face’, and The NYC Peech Boys’ ‘Don't Make Me Wait’. These titles, along with many others in the West End Records catalogue, went on to become some of the most sampled songs in music history, including ‘Here Comes The Hotstepper’ by Ini Kamoze, which is based on Taana Gardner. The catalogue available here also includes some of the revived West End’s modern releases.
