Started by hip hop aficionado and dedicated digger Peanut Butter Wolf, Stones Throw began life releasing rare and unusual funk and old school hip hop but has developed way beyond this remit to lounge crooner Mayer Hawthorne, the otherworldy work of Gary Wilson, J Dilla and the wayward beats of James Pants. They also do a mean line in compilations including the excellent Funky 16 Corners and the brilliant The Minimal Wave from 2010.
