Formed in 2003 with the express aim of reviving long-lost music, American’s Tom Lunt, Rob Sevier and Ken Shipley have since built an impressive company responsible for releasing some of the best soul, folk and exotica (mainly, though by no means exclusively, from north America). With a mixture of label compilations from indie soul outfits like Bandit, Big Mack and Capsoul, reissues like the rare groove classic 24 Carat Black, as well as conceptual collections like the gospel funk Good God! or kid-soul themed Home-Schooled, they’re mining a rich seam of previously undiscovered music. They also release 12-inches, 45s and DVDs.
