Mo Wax

The preposterously trendy Mo Wax was the label to like of the 1990s. Set up by James Lavelle, it was briefly at the vanguard of the trip hop movement, though its catalogue always had a more cinematic view of music than one sub-genre. As well as reissuing some classic old material (Liquid Liquid, David Axelrod), it also helped launch the careers of DJ Shadow, DJ Krush, as well as providing a launchpad for Lavelle's own project, UNKLE.
