K-Tel

K-Tel was originally best-known for its crazy TV-advertised gimmicky kitchen and homeware products like the Veg-O-Matic, a vegetable slicing machine. They moved into the compilation market in the mid-’60s and they have expanded greatly over the years acquiring back catalogues along the way. These days, they have an incredibly wide catalogue of very good music from ’80s soul to ’60s R&B, funk, ’50s rock’n’roll and jump that encompasses everything from Ray Charles to Yarborough & Peoples.
