"i need to get away from here...there must be a better place...from all the tension not to mention..."
side a of "collection" playing now. i've had 2GB of his mixes on a budget mp3 player just looping round for ages - some really wonderful stuff. it's just rips from cassette tapes but lovely warm bass and beats dubs to be had all the same
I think I first came across this on the furtive 50 thread for last year. This has to be one of my favourite house tracks in a long time. It has me leaping around my house like a deranged middle-aged man, whilst taking me right back to being 20 years old all over again. The cruel trick that time plays on us seems to be overcome when I listen to music like this - radio bloody rentals!
cosmosis - atom bom (from otherworld - dance, trance and magic plants 1997) dubsahara (this is greg hunter who made ace subsurfing album)
the souljazz nu yorica roots compilations
ishq - deep space objects (super lush abstract space ambience)
(books: just read cordwainer smith rediscovery of man which was bonkers and explains the presence of a cat in red dwarf! also curtis roads microsound, the csound book, blender foundations and patel's music language and the brain)
(i'm in love with the rhythms but somehow wish it was all made with different noises and i don't really like any lyrics in music)
original style comp was the best release i found to buy of this sort of sound. also there were some great tracks on one of the numero eccentric soul comps

Johnny Osbourne given a little dubby reworking. The original's great, mind.
Never mind how I found out; I'm a scientist.
