Yes, it's Monday morning but I thought this thread is where these pics belong.
The story in brief is Jackie Chan went to a concert by another singer (don't ask about the music - it's awful) and steamed up, he jumped up onstage and tried to start an impromptu duet. This he failed to do - trying to get the backing band to restart about 4 or 5 times.
The audience started heckling to which he replied 'Go f#ck yourselves' (press report it as 'go to hell' but having read the Chinese version, it's closer to 'f#ck yrselves).
By all accounts - he was really wasted and as you can see he even started throwing some shapes -
You can imagine the security guys at the side of the stage thinking, 'Shit do we go take him off? I've seen the films, it could be a struggle. F*ck it, lets just leave him to it.'
Why is he not popular in HK Steve? Is it because he makes a habit of doing things like this?
He has been known to jump on stage and start duets etc - usually he's sober and it's all pre-planned. He certainly loves the limelight.
He's hated in HK 'cos of a few things. Part of it is jealousy - he is enormously successful & wealthy.
He's wound some people up through his politics. He's very pro-China as in he's come out as saying pro-democracy protestors in HK are un-patriotic and should 'shut up'. He's very pally with a lot of Chinese govt bigwigs and always seems to be at the big functions as a kind of cultural ambassador.
HK people are also quite prudish and Jackie has had his fair share of shagging shenanigans - he's always hitting on/linked to young female co-stars. This is in contrast to his kind of clean cut 'no deaths, no swearing' onscreen persona.
I don't mind him and find the pissed-up and making a dick of himself side of him very funny and quite endearing - like a pissed-up Uncle. Over the water in Japan though - this would not create any furore. I bet Beat Takeshi has got away with a lot worse!!

huge archive too.
Did you go in to the archive at the top of the page? There plenty more where that came from.
It's one of the only things I;ve ever laughed out loud to at work - ended up getting totally busted for not working. Worth it though

I didn't realise there was an archive. I am now crying with laughter at my desk...and getting menacing looks...
it was the Harvey Keitel photo caption that gets me, even as I think about it now.
innersounds
I'm really supposed to go out now but I won't be in a fit state to get on my bicycle for at least an hour after reading that.
