Default Barry Lederer RIP

Just received an email with the sad news that Barry Lederer was found dead in his New York apartment over the weekend. I met him a few years ago when he came to see me play in NY and we've kept in touch since. Here are a couple of links for those who don't know about his contribution to Disco culture:

Bad news. Instrumental figure in early disco. Lovely man who'd kept up with things right up to now. Sad loss. RIP.

I think Brian Chin, who posts on here occasionally, was an acquaintance I'm sure he can add some words.

Just want to say RIP as someone who has enjoyed reading the wealth of online writings on early disco including Barry Lederer's input. Thanks for sharing the knowledge!.
I think it was Lederer who provided the Tom Moulton Sandpiper tapes over on VJS as well. Huge kudos for that.

Default Barry Lederer

Hadn't bumped into him in quite some time; saw Barry regularly in Footlight Records, where he had some connection with the owners for a number of years. Gracious man, obviously knew his stuff and made his technical understanding of sound and creative understanding of music really valuable to many people during his life.

Oh no! I just stumbled across this sad news! Rest in peace, Barry!

Met him once in NYC while visiting Morgan Geist at Club Love. Really nice and interesting guy.

Interviewed him for Faith a year or two ago, lovely guy. Had some great tales about the Saint and people from that time.

Sad news.
