luvdups back 28th march manchester
After the rip-roaring success of last month's Piñata and the sheer delight of hearing Moonboots play a 4-hour, no-holds-barred, monster Balearic set, (it went right off as we used to say, arms in the air smiley faces kinda vibezzzzz) it was always gonna be a tough act to follow, so we're unbelievably chuffed to welcome another legend of the Manchester Balearic network to the Sally on the 28th of March, in the form of Adrian Luvdup.
As well as being one of the first residents at Justin Robertson's Most Excellent night in the early nineties, Adrian went on to host his own legendary Luvdup parties, most memorably at the now defunct Venue on Whitworth Street West, where the place was bedecked in hearts and balloons and the punters treated to goody bags on the door. A heady mix of house, disco, pop and Balearic beats ensured that madness ensued every time. With his Luvdup "twin", Mark, the duo went on to create some incredible remixes and productions in the nineties and were voted amongst the Top 25 DJs in the world in a Mixmag poll of the time. So when Adrian formed a Facebook group called Eclectic Circus last week, with the desire to post up mixes of the sort of music he loves, but said he never gets asked to play out, we were only too happy to oblige. This is going to be a real treat and the chance to hear a truly diverse collection of music in the comfy confines of Manchester's best little boozer. Many happy times at both the Sally and LuvDup in its incarnations... blogged nostalgically about this on the above link.
