the dude changed my life, and how i enjoy the things i love.

in this household, there's a G5, a MBP, three iphones, two ipods, and an ass-ancient 1400c laptop.

with the exception of a few moments of farting around on an atari 1040st, any audio production i've ever done was on a mac.

i spend at least two hours a day listening to music through my ipod.

normally, i'm the first to hate on a corporate-whore, but apple made products that work, and make life more pleasant. i can't think of a single other company that has ever had this sort of impact on my life.

maybe i'm a fanboy, but whatevs. this one hurts.

seconding Cameron; I've been using a Mac since 1995 (a Power Mac 9500/120 with a Motorola chip inside) and I've never been disappointed by stuff Apple made/make.

Go on, Steve: the only way is up.

As the man behind Apple he's hada profound influence on our lives, and mine especially. I bought my first Mac (an SEII) in 1988 and I've continued to buy them.

As a father, he's a fucking tosser for the way he treated his eldest daughter (denied it was his claiming he was sterile, then went on to father further children).

Rip Steve Jobs

But.....of course they worked, they cost enough. Some incredible design and technology innovations, but recently they've been driving technology/the internet down a very closed, narrow model, which to me is the antithesis to what it was created for.

The man was a true visionary - albeit a hapless one at times in Apple's history.

I first used a Mac in 1993 - and have never looked back. I don't rush out and buy every new Apple product as if it is the must-have accessory as that is sometimes a mistake (ahem.. iPhone 4) but you can guarantee when they release some new device - it is astonishing how it can change the way we live our lives.

I have a love / hate relationship with Apple - I love using their products and look on in awe when they bring out something new, but I hate the way they make me feel like I need it too.

However, they seem to be entering a weird period again as they have done on a few occasions before and I think in some way this may be to do with Steve Jobs slowly bowing out of late - especially the iPhone and iPad which (some would say) are eclipsed by far better products on the market and as for the iPhone 4S - what is all that about? It only really brings the iPhone inline with many Android phones.

I demand something new and astonishing from Apple when they say they're gonna make an announcement Wink

All said and done - much respect is due to the man and a company that I'm sure will continue to make me want new toys.

RIP
