All today from Tavistock where I had to visit to get chain saw serviced and get some foam grills for my Heybrook HB2 speakers (a guy who lives there makes them).

All records were a pound or two from Charities or in the market (a guy had them on a junk stall).

Marine Girls / Lazy Ways
(just took a blind punt on this, glad I did real sweet 80's indie)

Ride / Going Blank Again
(not heard it before but had heard its a little like My Bloody Valentine so took the punt. Started of OK until I realised I was playing it at the wrong speed. Correct speed now selected and I'm not into it at all. Going in the trades pile).

Pillows & Prayers / Various
(compilation of acts on Cherry Red, a mixed bag but some real nice stuff)

Happy Mondays / Pills Thrills and Bellyaches
(First Mondays record I've owned and first time I've heard the LP in its entirety, obviously I've heard most of it over the years but never as a whole LP. I'm liking this a lot more than I thought I would in 2011, I never did and still don't like Step On though.)

Primal Scream / Give out but don't give up
(wasn't too sure what to expect, I know 'Rocks' but thats all I'd heard from this album. Not into it, will give it another needle drop though the tracks, probably going to trade it in)

Eurythmics / Love is a stranger
(finally, one of those things I though I would stumble across in every charity but never do. I'd not heard 'Let's just close our eyes' till today, can't believe how good it is)

Chicago / Street Player LP
(its taken me forever to find this, every pile of Chicago records I find has this one missing, yep I know this is only the LP but its taken me so long to find this in the wild I hold little hope of finding the 12)

The Farm / Spartacus
(I don't know why but I always had a feeling I was going to dig this lp, even though I did't like the singles, so I don't know where I got this idea from.
I don't like it to be honest, not at all. It falls down on the choruses which are often dreadful, and the guitar work/sound.
I thought it would all come correct on Terry's remix EP and it almost did, but there's still no escape from those choruses)

A few buts this week, some old some new:

Spike / New Germany
Bought mainly for the original mix of New Germany but I'm really into DJ Nature's mix at the moment, I really like what he's done here. Golf Channel coming correct!

Bodies oOn Water / Open Rhythms
Aficionado also coming correct.
Something about this track reminds me of something Serge's Melody Nelson, but my wife say it sounds nothing like it so I'll take her word for it.
Original is great, Mudd's remix just as great.

S.L.D. / Getting Out
Im a sucker for Italian pressings of Italo House tunes, so had to pick this up when I heard it playing on the record shop system today. Seems this track was huge back in the day but I can honestly say I don't remember hearing it and in 1990 I was still going out to raves and buying Italian imports.

Grand Poobah Tony D & Cool Gino G / It's My Day / I'm Terrifyin

I've had not heard of this on but its on the Body Rock label and the few things of got on that label have all been good.
So looking at Discogs it looks like this might be Tony D's first (of many) outings on wax, and Cool Gino G's only outing on wax. It a cool bit of 87 hip hop, probably sounds dated as hell and that does me just fine.
