Mystery Mix: Chida
For those that don’t know:
Widely regarded as one of the most exciting DJs to emerge from Japan recently, Chida’s Dancaholic parties and his extended sets at 11 in Tokyo are the stuff of legend. When he’s not DJing, he runs Ene Records and his debut releases, which came out last year on ESP Institute swiftly became an instant classic among the more discerning ears, eventually ending up on Mr. Weatherall’s recent Masterpiece mix.
And you can see him when he comes to these shores at the end of this month. He is playing alongside The Backwoods aka DJ Kent (Force of Nature, Galarude) and Last Waltz at ReviveHer, Dalston Superstore on July 27th and then in Newcastle on Saturday July 28th at Dada for the last ever party at the derelict ‘Old Music Hall’.

Nice.

He's been part of the Tokyo scene for the last 20 years. Not exactly a newcomer
We had Chida playing in Taipei last Friday and he was absolutely ace. Plus he's a great person. Very very strongly recommend it to anyone who got a chance to spot it in the UK at the end of July.
(he even shot a nice little video of the party)
Can't wait to listen to this mystery mix!

I'm guessing it's mostly Japanese productions - but I'm probably completely wrong!
Brilliant anyway - it's going to get played a lot in Croatia next week.

And what a mix it is - not only a quality selection of tunes spanning that drug-chugg / hypno-beat speed (as I've heard it categorised and which seems to be hitting all the right spots for people right now), but also a fluent, tight, soaring kinda mix capability that will hopefully bring him to these shores more often in the future.
I could really see this guy fitting in well with the World Unknown / A Love From Outer Space axis. For me, one of the best mixes of the year so far. (And I'm not his agent by the way - just like to report home what I finks).
Now, anyone what to start the tracklisting / spotting scenerio as there's some belters on this one.

Not doing it for me either, but that's one very silly point of two
