Got your Tor bundle and know your onions? Totally new to this.

The whole thing clearly needs some degree of 'risk management'; lots of myth but clearly a degree of truth on visiting my first site - 'silk road'...jeysus wept. Might just need to buy me some bitcoins...

silk road is the business (literally).

if you, uh.. partake, then silk road is your avenue for the highest quality.

i say this only as a friend of a user. me myself, i can't access... my system's too old for tor.

Anyway where were we - don't generally 'partake' these days but having seen silk road I'm sorely tempted to come out of retirement.

Definitely see the potential for the wider 'hidden web' as a kosher research resource but need to get my head around security issues before entering the depths, no interest in having anyone bumped off etc. and too busy to engage in bringing down Government so not sure what for. Any tips/other recommended .onions?

i got nothin'. a friend was kind enough to show me the website, and then show me his massive personal arsenal of acquisitions.

sadly, i know next to nothing about networks, so i couldn't tell if my presence would be truly anon or not. as for now, it's neither here nor there, my mac is a powerpc and can't deal with the tor bundle.

from what i understand, there's locations on there where you can buy bot-nets and even contract killing. wheee!

Could be total nonsense but other than access to research material (of any kind) I've seen talk of online gladiator human vs animal fights to the death betted upon by Bond-style $$$ baddies but for the Tits here *I'm in no place to support/refute it. It's an example, don't bother quoting me, I'm not interested in this aspect of it either, etc.*.

Definitely lots of nasty gear knocking around in there but with info supposedly "400 to 550 times larger than the commonly defined World Wide Web", there's going to be. Lots of bullshit about it no doubt but personally in no place to say what is or isn't. Other than silk road. Music-wise?

Interesting stuff. Must admit I have never been that motivated to plumb those depths, but this looks like something straight out of a post-apocalyptic hacker movie script. Except it's real.

Had Tor / Onion installed on a PC a few years back because of a trip to Dubai, what a pain to run as it is so slow. LOL

Neither the time nor inclination to explore without further advice. A bollocking from the wife for using the home set-up, or work for arseing around on its kit but either/or potentially ending in immeasurable technical/financial compromise...put me right if it's foolish talk.
