Just want to share this great version of vitamin C from the lost tape boxset.

Awesome, isn't it?

One of my faves from the box set that. But the whole thing is utterly great.

Apparently it will be coming out on vinyl...... sometime - along with the complete studio albums box

Agreed, this is just wonderful. If I could've been in any band in any era then it would definitely be Can.

I love this so much

The music on The Lost Tapes is absolutely essential for Can fans, no doubt about that. I've no quibble with the choice of tracks at all... 10/10.
The thing I dislike about it is the method of holding the cds in the box itself. They just sort of sit in disc-shaped recesses and to be honest it doesn't work that well. When I opened my box the discs all fell out/ some were already marked. If you keep your Can box horizontal this presents no problem - but if you intend to transport it / put it on a shelf or otherwise move it around/ then you invite DISASTER.
Damn that useless box.
So - basically what you get for your £25 - £30 is a box that looks good admittedly, a booklet and 3 discs without any type of case or holder (that a normal person would understand as being a case or holder that is). That makes it expensive in my view - although the music itself is priceless.
Basically then I'm a bit confused about this boxset.
If you're a Can fan get it - you won't regret it.

I bought my first Can album around 1977 in WH Smiths in Burgess Hill. It was £1.49 and was called Opener.
A great introduction to the band as it houses many of their all-time greatest tracks. In those far-off days WH Smiths was a shop that actually sold interesting music. Hard to believe perhaps for younger readers but I assure you its absolutely true.

I wish I hadn't started this post now/ but hell - now its done/ make of it what u will.

It's a shame that the box is so flimsy. I've ordered mine but havn't received it yet and I havn't seen any pictures of the boxset. Could you provide some pictures of it, please?

My box set is at work / as I have been playing it there.
I'm sure if u google it u will see it / or at least read about it - as it has been a talking point.
Tbh i've never seen a boxset with this type of cd holder/
its not practical - in fact its cheap and nasty. For a box set like this - from a good label and a great great band - well its just not very good.
I'm not a massive cd fan. They are ok as sound carriers but they are not vinyl.... vinyl is king. Always will be.
I know all its drawbacks and flaws but vinyl is simply KING.

Anyway - i do not mean to drag up this old argument.

The Lost Tapes is a fantastic epitaph for a legendary band. The music they made more than 40 years ago sounds as fresh as ever. The deep hypnotic grooves go straight to the heart of what makes great music, to me anyway.

A friend of mine interviewed Irmin once - and he told him the story of "the secret of CAN'.
If you want to know the story of the secret of Can then i'll type it down sometime.

I'm sure yr box set will be fine/ and u will think it dandy and wonder why I griped so about it/
Its just that I hate that damn box

>edit< The box itself is sturdy - not flimsy. Its the method of holding the cds inside that is the problem
