I downloaded it and played it last night for a few hours. Never been a big fan before. Its great though - a little like wanking into a small hat.
Wish I had the time to play it all day.

You downloaded it?
How the hell did you manage that?
I'm not really cool with people downloading games, if you think about the time and expense that goes into creating something like this...
Unless you downloaded a demo then a guess that would be fine like.
which console was this for ps3 ??? or pc
so are they capable of chipping if so (ps3)
fuck dat tell me were when and how lets not get into a debate on how downloading games is gonna ruin or stop people finding classics like joust ;)
for interest if own ps3 recommend:

I have a chipped xbox 360. I download the games. Its ok for you to be not cool about it. I often buy the games I like (Ill get GTA in the post in a few days as I pre ordered it) although I am not excusing myself from piracy there as I clearly am one. Lets not get into a piracy debate though - each to there own.

cant chip ps3 as far as I am aware, only xbox 360. it will probably get me kicked off xbox live at some point and then that will be my own fault. Until that day i can try any game I want before I buy it.

the mighty asok, be careful you're not online when you're playing it yet - I read something about Microsoft tracking down people who already have GTA4 "achievements" to crack down on the piracy leak.
Also, i'd be weary of posting about it so openly on the web!
To all the technophobe minds I just blew - apologies ;)
For the record, I'm grabbing this game as soon as it hits the PC... if anyone IS keeping a record...

I heard about this, but i hear about the same kind of thing with every game and to be honest its bollocks. I may get banned from live at some point - like I said, if i do, its my own fault.
Its not out on the PC for ages. Probably at least 6 months I would have thought.

I hear about it all the time as well, but honestly I doubt TOO many people have got their mits on the pirate copy prior to official release so it won't be quite so hard to track down the ones that don't cover their tracks.
I'm as dubious about being busted for this sort of download piracy as you, but in the case of this game I'd be a tad more concerned. And given teh relative simplicity and more regimented nature of online console servies compared to PC, it may be a lot easier to pinpoint who's pirated what
I've no doubt i'll have to wait a while for the PC version, but it's that or buy a console and I don't have the moolah. A mate of mine is buying it in the mean time to sate my desire to play prior...

My verdict?.......It's fucking amazing, witty, satirical and downright brilliant, and a load more interesting than any record or film that's likely to get released this year.....................some great radio stations as well.....FK, very nice :)

My god, this thing is amazing. Walking down the shoreline of Broker at night with the rain pouring down, looking over at the bright lights of Algonquin... completely unmatched outside of actually going to NYC!

Let me share an 'experience' that made me realise how immense this game is...
I was walking through the Meadows Park (the in game version of the NYC Worlds Fair) and I wandered upon the Monoglobe, and then I spotted a couple of guys hanging out in the sunshine on the benches to the side, one wearing an iPod and nodding his head. Then a jogger ran past, just as his mobile phone rang and he launched into a heated conversation with whoever was on the other end, and I saw there was a guy on the grass sweeping up fallen leaves and another brushing the path, beside a bunch of tourists who were snapping photos of the Monoglobe and chatting excitedly to each other about it.
Detail, detail, detail. Its fucking astounding.

I'm not feeling it yet. It seems a bit blurry e.g. the yellow lines in the middle of the road are especially blurry. I'm going to have to get used to how slow the character walks and the cars are very realistic to drive, i'd prefer them to be more arcadey. I'll see if it's any better on my bro's ps3.

They put a lot of faith in a certian Euphoria engine wich is what makes the AI and "ragdolling" extra realistic.

ok, so i finally tried it out. i'm not sure what all the fuss is about. it was actually kind of hard. i mean, i've played with it many times in the past and considered myself a pro but this was just different. i guess i knid of like to relax while i play and trying to aim and get it all in the little hat was just stressful. am i doing it right?

The "improved" aim/combat controls are still far from perfect.
Don't know about anyone else, but I get some pretty obvious graphic glitches/slowdowns.
I'm being fussy though, its a lot of fun. The attention to detail around the city is amazing.
and it sold over 600,000 copies yesterday!!!!

Being a bit slow, I just noticed Bobby Konders is one of the station DJ's.
Also: GTA is a sport?

My son wants an X-Box 360 for his birthday next week (to add to the PS2 and Wii)...and a copy of GTA IV. Looking forward to it - may re-ignite my love of gaming (as if I didn't have enough sources of timewasting)...

I actually gave him the choice of the two and, surprisingly, he came down on the side of the X-Box. If he changes his mind I'll contact you for a membership form... ;)
