Righto, last yr some lovely person decided they needed my Claude Butler bike more than me ( for free mind! )

So i'm in for another bike and i'm down to two. It'll be used mostly for cycling to work and a a fair bit of off road falling off stuff..

So this lovely looking retro bike without the fat tubing

or this beast with fat tubing but pretty much the same spec.

gutted about getting your bike nicked

i bought a brand new claude butler about two years ago and came off quite badly on the first day i had it, was off roading and came over the handlebars completely mangling the front wheel. and my scrotum.

never ridden it since!

some nice picks there though, i'm sure any of them would be ace

I have a gun-metal Kona Firemountain, which I bought mainly because it looks cool. It's a pretty good bike as well, though. Some nice chap nicked the wheels, saddle and front fork Rockshox last year, so it's currently something of a hybrid made up with the closest match parts the bike shop could get hold of. In fact, the bike itself is an insurance replacement for my previous Firemountain, which got nicked in its entirity 2 years ago. The sad fact is that, if you have a nice bike, people will steal it, or take whatever they can from it. W@nkers.

I'd go for the Charge - if only because they also make this uber-cool single-speed road bike:

That Change is a handsome looking beast, as is the LTD. The Specialized less so but I'm a big fan and could not diss Specialized in the slightest. Bought a Stumpjumper in '99, rode it from Calais to Nice with fat panniers, caned it on downhill courses, etc. Strong as an oxe, great geometry (without 30kg of panniers..)

Think of it as a potential partner, looks are almost everything...;)
