The man's a hero but even Adrian Chiles couldn't tempt me to watch ITV.

He's one of the few people on TV who one could imagine getting rat-arsed in the pub with whilst talking thouroughly enjoyable bullshit. Is he really going to ITV?

It's refreshing in these times of Ken & Barbie TV presenters that someone as butt ugly as Childs can still get a look in.

i'm with you there - apart from eamonn holmes i've never known one man stretch such little talent so far....he's one of those genial, blokey, unthreatening types that the BBC love so much, he's the new frank bough (minus the S&M fetish) - let's hope he does a Lynam and takes ITV's bucks and ends up on Countdown.
he does motd 2 ok but that one show is drivel & he's a patsy

I don't mind Adrian Chiles, but no-one should be allowed to support West Brom and get away with it. Since I support Norwich this is a wholly irrational position to take, but I'm still recovering from that tedious 0-0 draw at the Hawthorns I witnessed during our Premiership season. The fact that most of the West Brom fans leaving the ground thought it was a good game said it all - they're obviously idiots with no idea about football. Plus, West Brom is a shithole and Frank Skinner is very annoying.
And going to ITV? What an idiot.

i can't stand him... personification of demise of BBC - where now having a brain, being remotely educated or (god forbid) posh/lacking a regional accent is a cardinal sin...

I find that lots of BBC people who cross over - are never quite the same - classic example Des Lynam - dry, genial on the BBC, became a rather dull, uninspired shadow of his former self, time-pressured by ads and the bland constraints of ITV-speak - the twinkle in the eye was lost and hence his entire raison-etre...
a lesson there for Chiles... one of the very few presenters worth watching these days...
where, once the BBC was once rife with characters, oddballs and misfits, it is a now a career path for identikit on-message nobodies who know how to exclaim but not how to entertain...
how depressing..

Yes, that was the conclusion I had already reached. Boing Boing my arse!
Oh, and whenever I hear Portsmouth fans singing "the pompey chimes" I always have an irration desire to sing back: "ey oh idiots, idiots ey oh". Apologies if this offends Portsmouth fans but it's a silly chant and your ground is rubbish.

Why do so many annoying people support West Brom, I watched Blues play (cough) Newcastle down the local other night and a West Brom fan was shouting the odds, my old art teacher who ruined my art GCSE was one... Birmingham is surely the true home of football in the Midlands.. the football league invented there, the bloke that introduced the whistle prior to the ref's handkerchief was invented and made there and Villa apparently gave West Ham their kit, or so it goes. I was going to finsih by making a comment about Blues or Villa but I just know it would encourage a load of hassle.

Don't mind Chiles but insinuating he doesn't have a brain and is uneducated is the worst kind of snobbery. That type of thinking belongs in the dark ages.
Begone ye fool lest I strike you down with my knight's sword :-D
