Hi - I've uploaded an original Cafe Del Mar tape here:
http://www.filefactory.com/file/a91507/
it's number 27 from Jose Padilla's classic live sets that they used to sell for a mil I think it was...
some tracklisting that I've managed to cobble together below, fill in the gaps and forever be my hero. In my opinion this is one of Jose's strongest sets - it has a real feeling of a journey through the music - exemplified by his recurring use of whale song, and also snippets of tracks like the young boy singing from 'Cook the Thief...' very dramatic, very beautiful, and a pleasure for me to share!

thanks Jolyn, glad you like tape too. Hey, I've been checking out some of your mixes which are real nice! By the way, there's another del mar mix available on another of these threads, the one with the deer hunter on it and albatross...you don't happen to know the first track on side B do you? it's really upbeat and balearic..kinda like the PCO's 'air a danser' ... thanks in advance! Herbie

One day i'll get the cafe del mar video i have transferred onto dvd. Filmed
by ramon, one of the owners, from april - september 1992 , with a jose
soundtrack on top ( seigen ono , kitaro , fleetwood mac, stevie wonder etc)
It was given to martyn the poet ( who has a cameo in the video ) , who
leant it to me. I copied it, the sound quality is terrible though, i'll have to get back in touch with martyn and get another copy.

Just listening to cafe tape 3-n , one of my favourites.

This has been bugging me too :-D

I've asked about and even the Balearic Jedi are stumped with this one. I've resigned myself to it being a great lost ambient classic :(
