Okay here's the idea: upload (you know the uploadsites megaupload, zhare etc...) a mix
that's after all those years still playing on your mp3player ,
a mix that has become a classic for you, one from a few years back
or even one from the tapedeck days, like that Pal Joey at MOS tape ;).
The internet grows and i think a lot of mixes disappear in cyberspace
(shizm.com, sonicsunset, anyone ? or PT&HPL at ShibuyaFM)

Please keep in mind that the mix should be a few years old,
no longer available on the net (do the google check)...
No intention of creating a DHP style of backcatalogue,
it's just about sharing music, it could be nice for new forum members

here's the first one, the one that gave me the idea for starting this thread :
"Sasse : oldskool_mix / Mood music", think the mp3 is from december 2003
and this still gets a regular spin (well it's an mp3) around my house,
i know Sasse ain't a big name to start this thread but the mix is pure feelgoodmusic : 80s disco, boogie & protohouse...

here you go :
sasse_oldskool_mix.mp3 - 70.53MB (http://www.zshare.net/audio/34427503dd1360/)

Going through some very old CD's late last night, i found some Shizm mixes i didn't know i had :)

Remember Yist's Groove by Paul Nickerson? I'll upload it tomorrow. (Quality may not be too hot - CD burned from MP3 then ripped to MP3...)

i just backed up my machine - so all the old mixes are off, the only one i refuse to move for the moment is Maurice Fulton's mix for RA, the one with barbara streisand's 'promises' on it, or his edit of it anyway... that mix is brilliant and gets played a lot, if anyone wants it let me know, ill pop it up...

This is only really classic to me, being extracts from some of my first tape recordings off the radio.

See thread:

http://www.sendspace.com/file/z2fht2

Quality isn't up to much, but what else do you expect from something that is almost around 35 years old and has been transferred from one tape to another about 3 times.

Gathering In The Harvest - ??
On - Holy Mackerel (*edit - from John Peel Sessions 1972)
Hocus Pocus(?) - Focus
Movin On - JJ Cale
The VII Wives of Henry VIII - Rick Wakeman

Let There Be Drums - Sandy Nelson

I thought this must have been beard-stroked to death on this here and it has, deservedly, been mentioned on here before, tweaked my search criteria and it turned up on the best mixes of 2004 thread (http://www.djhistory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9297). Anyway, as a naive disco padawan, not fully immersed in the glow of the glitter ball and illuminated dancefloor, this blew me away and has sucked a fair few fun tokens out of my wallet tracking down some of the tracks within.

http://www.sendspace.com/file/typxf7

I used Audio Hijack to grab it from the milkaudio (http://milkaudio.com/web/guest_davelee.php) website, it's pretty compressed but it's all about the music innit!

I know you can still listen to it on the net, but not everyone is able to listen on their pc, this is for peeps who want to listen on the move. If anyone knows where a better quality version of this mix exists, lemme know.

It's an error (maybe intentional?)
Mighty Fire (http://www.discogs.com/artist/Mighty+Fire) is the correct artist name.

The Mighty Trousers. Surely the best cover-up name ever! :)

i think it's 2 songs after randy crawford, female vocal, sounds like he was playing with some of the buttons on the cdj's?

I thought this must have been beard-stroked to death on this here and it has, deservedly, been mentioned on here before, tweaked my search criteria and it turned up on the best mixes of 2004 thread (http://www.djhistory.com/forum/showthread.php?t=9297). Anyway, as a naive disco padawan, not fully immersed in the glow of the glitter ball and illuminated dancefloor, this blew me away and has sucked a fair few fun tokens out of my wallet tracking down some of the tracks within.

Is the vocal he plays at the start and throughout by Linda Clifford? I've heard it before, memory throws up either Ride The Storm or You Can Do It?

I know he produced that Akabu track with her.

This is a great afro-garage mix by Serge Negri, a lovely chap I came in touch with 5 years ago, when i used to surf dhp; he told me "I did that mix @ 6am, and watched the sunrise while I was playing" ;)
