Very tempted by the studio-board-ish layout and features (as well as the lack of other features I wouldn't use) of the Nuo3, but don't really know about the sound quality so much. Any users here?

hiya,
i guess it depends on what you want it for....
i've had a nuo3 for about a year and a half and it's served me fine. the layout's pretty intuitive (handy if you've managed to get quite, erm, 'relaxed' whilst playing!), e.q. knobs are a decent size and do a reasonable job, and it has a balanced master output. it's been bumped round from party to party and had the odd splash of beer and kept on working. it's also been played reeeeeeeally loud through a p.a. at a festival and to my (admittedly slightly deaf) ears didn't sound too bad...
on the downside i don't really think it's designed for long, super smooth mixes. this is fine for my slightly sketchy 'maximum four bars in and out' style, but if you have aspirations to owning a bozak in the future this might piss you off after a while - the upfaders even on the softest curve seem to cut in quite sharply and they are set to unity when full up, which doesn't give you any headroom (obviously if you're scratch mixing this all becomes a bonus, and you get the option of upgrading to an 'eternal' cross fader too).
if i had the choice again i guess it would either be the nuo or the 4 channel urei - i'm sure last time i looked on the htfr site this was only £25 more and gives you the extra channel to play with.
bit vague i know - drop me a line if you want something more specific.
