would this pc be any good for running a music software programme on, alongside using it for photoshop & the internet - e.g. does it have enough memory etc? or is it totally the wrong kind of thing?

or would i be better off keeping my old pc & getting a separate lap top for the music?

also, i've got a cd recorder, would this mean i could record samples from vinyl & get them into the software to use directly, or would i still need to use soundforge or something?

apologies for the obvious questions but i haven't a clue when it comes to this..

cheers,

dixta

pc's to macs - who knows.. if it was me i would get a mac laptop (most powerful one you can get with your funds) and run all art/music programs on that..

regarding your cd recorder. put simply, you could record direct to a cd, finalise it and put it in said laptop. then create a folder on desktop (or whever you want in your computer) for the track you are making on logic or cubase and drag tracks from the cd into that folder. from there you import into said music program. there you can cut whatever you want out the samples you recorded.

hope that helps someway.
