Melting Pot welcomes back to Glasgow CHICKEN LIPS DJ, Steve "Fella" Kotey, after an all too long period. Steve played with us about three years ago, and mightily impressed us all, goodness knows why it's taken so long to get him back! In the mean time Steve has immersed himself into a number of projects, starting with the hook up with the CHICKEN LIPS duo of Andy Meecham and Dean Meredith. Fortifying their already formidable reputation, and taking things to the next level - bringing their dubbed out electro disco to the masses. With a prodigious work load; singles on Kingsize, a plethora of remixes, compilation mix CD's including DJ Kicks on K7! and Clicks, Acid 'n' Disco on Trust the DJ, and DJ dates across the globe, with Steve being the international 'Lips ambassador!

As if that wasn't enough to keep him busy, Steve has moved on from his Big Bear disco re-edits label to the fully formed Bear Entertainment label. With releases from Idjut Boys, Chicken Lips, Lindstrom, Dj Kent, Prins Thomas, Theo Parrish, Brennan Green, Fuzz Against Junk, Todd Terje, Ray Mang, Mudd, Nick Chacona, Fabrizio Mammarella and of course Stevie himself. Bear Entertainments A&R repertoire reads like the who's who of wonky disco.

As a producer in his own right Steve has impressed, most notably in his break through project Akwaaba, that came out on the Idjut Boys Discfunction label. Single Jus Pilau became a favourite with lots of big name DJs and was played to death at Body and Soul in New York by Francois K, who also featured it on his stonking Essential Mix CD. More recently Steve's just been producing under his own name, with remixes for Lindstrom and Deep Freeze amongst others.

Melting Pot continues its journey into the deeper side of disco and beyond at Glasgow's longest running (four and a half years and counting!) club dedicated to the proper disco sound. All on one of the best sound systems in Glasgow helped in no small measure by the awesome sound quality generated by our legendary vintage Urei rotary mixer!
