Getting dragged along to the Acropolis?
My advice: make your excuses & head for the Plaka flea-market.
It's at the same tube stop as the Acropolis (Monastiraki), but turn left, instead of right.
On the right, past the shops selling trainers & combat gear (imagine Camden with better weather) are a couple of arcades.
The second one has 3-4 shops crammed with vinyl. Lots of 60s psyche LPs, a decent smattering of classic soul & funk.
The first arcade is where the action is though: a place called Zakarias.
Ground floor has a CD shop crammed with bootlegs: if you want the listen to the Beatles eating lunch while making Sgt Pepper, now's your chance.
Also on the ground floor is the main vinyl shop.
Lots of rock, new wave stuff, a small selection of disco, lots of Italo, some new age - Roedelius, etc - and racks & racks of pop 12s - all those 80s things with 'Super maxi' across the top.
Downstairs is Jazz/Soundtracks/African/Soul, plus a huge 'bargain basement' I didn't dare go in, for fear of losing a couple of days.
I've bought a lot of records out of there in the last couple of years - all sorts of stuff you don't see in the UK.
Highly recommended!
