Recently while in the Bangkok airport the wheel on a fairly new UDG trolley record bag split open like a hollow shell. I was able to peel it off to expose a very small solid wheel that was able to get me thru the rest of the tour, but would like to replace it with something better & improved. After reaching out to UDG...they sent me to a company called here Mixware stateside. I waited for a little over a week for them to respond which they did not, so I hit them up again far less polite this time and they responded the next day. I fear however that they will probably supply a wheel set that is identical to what's on the trolley rightnow; which obviously will not last under REAL use. If anyone has mod'ed one of these bags with sometype of skateboard or roller blade wheel I would love to hear about it and get some specifics.

What's kind of sad here is that I have a High Roller case from 2000 that I use as a checked bag on airplanes and it's wheels still function fine (doesn't roll the smoothest in the world, but it works fine). The High Roller bag is 11-12 years old and gets handled by airport personnel yet still functions better than a new bag that is about 9 months old. I guess they really don't make'em like they use too.

Anyway, if you have mod'ed one of these with better wheels please give me the scoop! Would be greatly appreciated.

Nobody mod'ed one of these...the company is very hard to deal with. Sadly I own 3 UDG.

i'd love to get a replacement telescoping handle, but those things are riveted in.

never modded one for wheels, but maybe some of those corny rollerblade wheels would work. being that absolutely nobody rollerblades anymore there should be shitloads of those wheels around.

I've been looking thru some roller blade wheels...so far they seem to be a lil to big. I need to find some kids rollerblades, maybe those will be smaller. The search continues though!

Wanted to hit this up again just to plant sends in my fellow vinyl Dj's heads...It appears that UDG and/or their American importer Mixware are not going to honor their warranty on this record trolley even though it's less than a year old and was purchased new. Mixware says the bag was discontinued before they took over importing duties and UDG forwards me to Mixware. So it's a cycle of not standing behind their product. Also what I didn't mention above is that the sling bag that accompanies this record trolley ripped in the back on this same tour.

If you're looking for a record trolley maybe look at Magma. Those bags seem nice, but I haven't used one before and they are kind of difficult to find in the USA. I have had folks tell me that they love them. I'm gonna get a custom trolley made. Probably the only way to get something durable enough for consistent travel. Although I still have a Hi-Roller padded trolley I use from 2000 or 2001, but it's days are coming to an end for sure. Maybe they just don't make'em like they use too.
End of rant...
